Tim Pope is from the North of London, Enfield. He studied at Hornsley college of art in film making.
Pope went on to design Iggy Pops album and met Rob Smith in 1982.
Pope has directed over 37 music videos with The Cure. Some of his most famous being 'Friday I'm in love', 'Close to me', 'Come to Bed' and 'Just Like Heaven'.
Tim Pope also directed 'The Cure in Orange', which is a performance they did at the Eponymous theatre in the South of France.
He also recorded his own songs with them called, 'I want to be a tree', 'Elephants', and 'The Double Crossing of two-faced Fred'. These records are considered collectors items for fans of The Cure.
He directed his own short film in 1991 called 'Phone'.
He was asked by the Weinstein Brothers of Miramax to make 'The Crow: City of Angels' for them.
Over the years, Pope has worked with people like Neil Young, David Bowie and The cure.
He directed David Bowie's 50th birthday celebration at Madison Square in 1997. The show featured Robert Smith, Foo Fighters, Billy Corgan, Frank Black and Lou Reed.
In 2005 Pope was awarded with a CADS lifetime achievement by the music industry.
In 2013 he filmed The Cure's 'LatAm' tour across South America and Mexico.
