- Pop music is a genre of popular music, which originated in its modern form in the 1950s, deriving from rock and roll.
- As a genre, pop music is very electric, often borrowing elements from other styles including: Urban, Dance, Rock, Latin and country; nonetheless, there are elements which define pop.
- Pop music has many different sub genres, some of these are: bubblegum pop, dance pop, operatic pop and teen pop.
- Some of the worlds most famous singers are pop artists, some of them are: Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Madonna and Taylor Swift.
- Also many of the biggest singles in music history are very much pop related, some examples are: We found Love by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris, I Gotta Feeling by the black eyed peas and Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO.
